The overriding strategy of Specialty Hospitals of America is to operate at the highest level of care standards and provide our largest referral resource, Short Term Acute Care Hospitals, with the most optimum discharge destination for patients that are still in need of longer term acute care.

The company hopes to assemble approximately 1000 specialty beds within a number of Focused Centers of Medical Excellence in the next five years.

Empower SHA staff with the knowledge, managerial infrastructure and facilities to provide patients, their families and the surrounding medical community with quality care and positive outcomes. Identify locations with proximity (within 45 minutes) of major metropolitan areas, where a critical mass of Short Term Acute Care Hospitals (STACH) exist and create new (or revitalize existing) LTACH facilities.

Demonstrate to the doctors and nursing staff at STACHs the benefits of discharging case-appropriate patients to Specialty Hospitals of America's facilities.
